INTRODUCTION

Global Citizenship Foundation heartily welcomes you to The Educational Leadership Conclave 2020 on Fostering Student-Agency for Sustainable Development Goals on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Juniper Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, India.

The Educational Leadership Conclave 2020 is a one-day unique conference organized by the Global Citizenship Foundation with the cooperation of UNESCO MGIEP, India Education Foundation and Council for Global Citizenship Education. The Conclave combines keynote presentations, workshops, Talking Across Generations on Education (TAGe) panel discussion and networking opportunities to facilitate effective partnership-building for school leaders to achieve the Global Goals.

This exclusive event aims to create a community of prominent 100 educational leaders empowered to foster student-agency for SDGs and realize Global Citizenship Foundation—UNESCO-MGIEP’s joint efforts to mainstream kindness and prevent violent extremism through education.

While enabling delegates to deepen their understanding of fostering student-agency through process-oriented project-based learning, the Conclave provides the delegates the opportunity to become part of a wider network of educational leaders committed to fostering student-agency through Global Citizenship Foundation’s Young Changemakers for SDGs Program by accepting the 100 Acts Challenge.

CONCLAVE OBJECTIVE

The objective of the conclave is

  • To be a platform for progressive educators to foster student-agency for SDGs through the 100 Acts of Global Citizenship initiative.
  • To create a network of prominent progressive school leaders in India to integrate the Young Changemakers for SDGs Program at their schools and be part of UNESCO-MGIEP’s Kindness Matters Campaign.

About TAGe: Talking Across Generations on Education (TAGe) is a young people-driven intergenerational dialogue on education designed by the UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development. Freire (1970) stated that human nature is dialogic and that communication has a leading role in our life, especially in transforming oppressive, hegemonic structures. TAGe is Freirean in that it is premised on the centrality of the transformative nature of dialogue. Premised on this centrality of dialogue for societal transformation with a temporal twist – ‘across generations’, this unique platform brings together selected and highly-qualified youth representatives in a face-to-face flat dialogue on education with senior decision-makers on issues of common concern.
