Conrad Hughes

Conrad Hughes (MA, PhD, EdD) is the Director General of the International School of Geneva. He is a Professor in Practice at the University of Durham’s School of Education, a UNESCO IBE Senior Fellow, and a member of the advisory board for the University of the People.

Conrad also serves as an associate researcher in the Department of Psychology and Education at the University of Geneva. He is the author of numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Hughes’ most recent books are Education and Elitism: Challenges and Opportunities (2021, Routledge), Educating for the 21st Century: Seven Global Challenges (2018, Brill), and Understanding Prejudice and Education: The Challenge for Future Generations (2017, Routledge). His most recent book, Changing Assessment: How to Design Curriculum for Human Flourishing will be launched in May 2025.
