Dr. Gomathi Jatin is a teacher educator, working as Associate Professor with the Centre of Excellence in Teacher Education at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. With a Ph.D. inEducation from the University of Mumbai, she teaches courses related to Adolescent Psychology, Leaners psychology, Educational Leadership and Management, School Observation, and Teacher Education and nurtures keen interest in school and classroompractices. She has also taught Material Design and Development and has experience in teachingacross courses at the Early Childhood Education level.
Her doctoral thesis is around social psychology and adolescence and her primary areas of interest revolves around positive psychology, especially SEL, Non-violent communication (NVC), life-skills and well-being,and peace psychology. She also works in areas of adolescent psychology, classroom pedagogyand practices, education leadership and management, and action research. She has co-authored a book on adolescence titled ‘Adolescence in India: An Interdisciplinary Perspective’, a Routledge publication. She has conducted various workshops on SEL, Life-skills and wellbeing, and NVC. She along with her team has conducted summer schools on Peace Studies,Education and Pedagogy.
She and her colleague, recently conducted a workshop on PeaceStudies, Education and Pedagogy Multidisciplinary Perspectives in Peacebuilding at theCritical Edge Alliance (CEA) Annual Conference 2023 at Morocco. She along with her teamwill be conducting the second in series of summer workshops in April/May
