Indrani Bhaduri, PhD is a Professor CEO and Head of PARAKH and Educational Survey Division at the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Ministry of Education, India.

Her area of specialization is Educational Assessment and Psychometrics, Test Designing and Analysis and Reporting of Large-Scale Achievement Surveys, and School Based Assessment to improve Learning Outcomes. She has been working in Educational Assessment and allied disciplines for 27 years. Her experience at NCERT includes addressing issues and activities pertaining to planning, implementation, and dissemination of countrywide large-scale studies/achievement surveys for school education.

She is associated with active policy-level engagements with state governments and other agencies in school education and large-scale assessment surveys under Samagra Siksha in India.

A key highlight of her work is the development of Holistic Progress Cards. Her work has been instrumental in reimagining traditional assessment methods to align with the holistic and dynamic needs of the learners and has championed innovative, student-centered approaches that emphasize meaningful and inclusive learning.

In addition, Prof Bhaduri has worked extensively to establish equivalence frameworks across school boards. Her efforts ensure that students transitioning between diverse educational systems or curricula are evaluated fairly and consistently, enabling a seamless academic progression. By developing robust equivalence mechanisms, she has helped bridge gaps in learning standards, creating greater cohesion and equity among various education boards.
