Professor Dr Pradeep Nair is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor & ChiefAcademic Officer of Taylor’s University, Malaysia. Pradeep focusses on innovation in highereducation. Over the last 31 years, he has led numerous institutional transformation projects and pioneered new concepts and ideas to embed “whole-person education”in university curricula. In 2018, he successfully implemented the Taylor’sCurriculum Framework (TCF), a bold initiative to transform all degrees to be morehumanistic, broad-based, flexible and personalized.
He is an appointed member of the National Council for Technicaland Vocation Education (MTVET), the National Curriculum Board for Polytechnicsand Community Colleges in Malaysia, the Deputy President of the MalaysianAssociation of Private Colleges and Universities (MAPCU) and the Founding President of the ASEAN Tourism Research Association (ATRA).
Pradeep is a multiple national andinternational award-winning educational leader. He achieved notable recognition in the field of education and hospitality, winning the World Education Congress Leadership Excellence Award in 2012 and being named one of the "Top 100 Personalities in Hospitality" by Hospitality Asia Magazine. Notably, he received the PATA Gold Award for Education and Training for his contributions to tourism and hospitality education, including the establishment of the National Hotel Industry Apprenticeship Scheme. His efforts were further acknowledged with the title of KMN (Officer of the Order of the Defender of the Realm) by the King of Malaysia. In 2014, he became the first Asian Fellow of the International Centre of Excellence (THE-ICE) in Tourism and Hospitality Education. The following year, he received the National Outstanding Educator Award in the University Category for his contributions to private higher education in Malaysia. In 2016, he was honored as an Officer for the l'Ordre des Palmes Académiques by the French Government, a national order recognizing distinguished academics and figures in the realms of culture and education.
